With reference to my letter of the 30th ultimo, I have the honour to acquaint you, for the information of the Earl of Carnarvon, that the balance now standing to the credit of the Government of Hong Kong in the Books of this Office is £953: 11:0, and that the liabilities, so far as they are known to the Crown Agents, exclusive of the Colony's contribution towards Military Expenditure, that will be due to the War Office on the 31st instant, are about £3600:11:0, leaving
